Product selection for sugar syrup 50%
Choosing the Right Invertase for 50% Sugar Syrup (1:1)
When professional beekeepers need to prepare a 1:1 sugar syrup — equal parts sugar and water by weight — Invertobee offers two purpose-built products: Invertobee 50-C and Invertobee 50-W. Both deliver 100% sugar inversion and identical final syrup quality. The right choice depends on your setup, your schedule, and how you work in the field.
What Makes These Two Products Different?
The key difference is invertase concentration and, as a result, operating temperature range.
Both products contain the same food-grade acidity regulators (lemon powder, citric acid, tartaric acid, malic acid) and texture regulators (glucose, maltose, various sugars) alongside the invertase enzyme.
Understanding the Naming System
Our product codes are designed to be intuitive:
- "50" indicates the product is formulated for 50% sugar syrup (1:1 ratio by weight).
- "C" stands for cold-capable — these products work at room temperature, no heating required.
- "W" stands for warm — these products require heating to 50–60°C and are the economical choice for operations with existing heating infrastructure.
Which Product Is Right for You?
Choose Invertobee 50-C if you:
- Work without heating equipment or want to eliminate energy costs for syrup preparation.
- Travel to remote apiaries and want to start inversion before you leave, letting it complete while you're in transit.
- Operate in variable conditions — whether you're preparing syrup in an unheated shed in early spring or working through a summer heat wave, the product performs across the full temperature range.
- Manage time-sensitive operations where you may need faster turnaround at higher temperatures when required.
With Invertobee 50-C, you simply mix, leave the tank to invert at ambient temperature, and return to ready-to-feed syrup. No boilers, no monitoring.
Choose Invertobee 50-W if you:
- Already have a heated tank or heating system in place at your facility.
- Prioritize cost per kilogram of syrup — at the same price point, the 50-W pack treats 1,200 kg versus 1,000 kg for the 50-C.
- Operate from a fixed base where heating infrastructure is readily available and inversion time is not a constraint.
For operations with heating capacity, Invertobee 50-W is the most economical option per kilogram of finished syrup.

What Both Products Deliver
Regardless of which product you choose, the result is the same: a fully inverted, HMF-free sugar syrup that supports colony health and reduces your overall feeding costs. Preparation requires nothing more than a scale and a thermometer.
